7 Famous Black Actors Who Did Not Live Up To Expectation

It has been said that there are 7 well known black Americans in Hollywood. There are more of course. These include Denzel, Tom Hanks, James Baldwin, Jamie Fox, Diahann Carroll, and Sidney Poitier. These are very few, though, compared to the hundreds of thousands of blacks in America, or in the world for that matter.

Jamie Fox is an actor with very short hair, which is something not common in many American black hairstyles. He has appeared in some of the best films of the last ten years, including the new one The Pursuit of Happyness. He is good-looking, and has a very interesting hairstyle. He wears his hair short, but it can be braided. Other popular black American actors with short hair are Denzel, James Baldwin, Sidney Poitier, and Etta James.

Etta James is an outstanding actress, who appeared in some of the most memorable movies of the last twenty years. Her best known role was in the movie The Nuttyanian princess. She died in a car crash, unfortunately. She is survived by her son.

One other great actor of our time, who is popular with many people, is Michael Jackson. He is no longer with us, but his music lives on in the form of numerous CD’s that have been made. His music reached many generations, even after his death.

Sidney Poitier is also an outstanding actor, who appeared in a number of successful films. In fact, he appeared in four of the biggest films of all time. One of those films was Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Other than Bill and Ted, he has also been in some of the best films of the nineties and the eighties. The late Frank Capra’s choice of hiring him to star in his film ‘A Time to Kill’ was actually one of his greatest choices.

George Clooney is another example of a black man succeeding after being a long-overdue superstar. His best known roles were in the films of Clint Eastwood. He has been nominated for an Academy Award for his work in those movies. After his Oscar win, his career stalled, but then he was able to reclaim his limelight with the great movie, ‘Spotlight’. He has been nominated again for the Best Actor award for his part in that film.

When he made his comeback to the big screen, he did so with the great role in the movie,’Gladiator’. He had many more great roles to accomplish, which spanned many years. He finally achieved success with the movie, ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’.

Out of the many great black actors of Hollywood, one of the most respected is Denzel Washington. He will always be remembered by many as the man who was shot down while filming the movie ‘Point Break’. But why should we not remember him for his many years of success in the acting business. He has been nominated for many awards including an Oscar and he always proves that he is a very deserving human being. He has also been a friend of ours at the white house, which is something we all appreciate about him.

There is one actor who can easily be placed into this discussion along with Denzel Washington and that is Matt Damon. Matt Damon is another great actor who has accomplished much in his career. He has achieved success in all the genres of movies that he is in. One of his first big break films was in the movie, ‘A Few Good Men’. That movie helped to make Damon a name in Hollywood and also led to him winning three Oscars for his work in those movies.

Damon also played a part in the successful film, ‘Catch Me If You Can’, which was directed by Steven Spielberg. A similar type of role might also be deserving of mention here. It could be his role in the new film, ‘Terminator’ that will push him even further into stardom.

Another one of the great actors from our times is Barack Obama. He is another example of an African-American man who achieved success in virtually every role that he has played. Of course his role as the president of the United States will always be remembered but the fact that he came from a very humble background and made it big in life is a tribute to his character. That is a tribute that black men cannot afford to ignore.

There are many different kinds of roles that these actors have played throughout their careers. Each one of these actors is a success in their own right and they all deserve the best of what they can get. They have all paid their dues and many times have had to overcome racism in order to become what they are today. It takes a lot of luck and sometimes even a lot of guts to play any role that you get called to play. These black stars are lucky to have been given the opportunity to play many different types of roles.
